Traffic congestion can put a dampen on your day. Trying to navigate through a gridlock can leave you feeling mentally and physically exhausted.
What if there is a simpler way to commute without the hassles of spending hours in traffic? What if you could zip through traffic and arrive at your destination in no time? This is the world that bikeshare services = are trying to create. Scooters are fast becoming a preferred way to ride all over the world. To create transportation options that are environmentally friendly, some of these scooters are designed to be electrically assisted.
In a bid to introduce a new transportation option to residents, new bikseshare service Scoobi will be launching its fleet of dockless electrically assisted scooters in Pittsburgh. These electric scooters are looking to bridge the gap between private and public transportation.
More about Scoobi bikeshare
Starting with 100 dockless scooters, the bikeshare service will be launching electrically assisted scooters in Pittsburgh to provide “an affordable, environmentally conscious way to experience the city” said Scoobi CEO, Mike Moran. These bikes were created by Genze, creators of electric bikes and they come equipped with 2 different sized helmets and an outlet to charge smart phones. Your phone can be mounted on the bike’s handle bars so you can monitor your miles and the bike’s battery life.
A Scoobi can travel up to 30 mph with a range of 34 miles after every full charge. The bikes have designated parking zones across the city and parking must be reserved in advance via the Scoobi mobile app. It is important you stick to the parking zones to avoid being charged a fine.
